karl marx
on page 160, on the third paragraph down the page, karl marx speaks of how he feels that modern industry has established the world market, how how the market had given an immense development to commerce, navigation, and communication by land. i agree with the fact that market and things like that have paved the way for all of our other means of communication, but one thing i do disagree with is the fact that he gives MODERN indusrty all of the credit for this. it was well before modernization, and industry even came about that the only way people could speak to other people, or meet new people was by traveling to sell whatever they had to sell to make the money to feed their family.
